Hello world,
The recently eclipsed Moon hangs overhead in the sky as I write this. It was a beautiful day in New York after heavy rains and a tornado watch on Friday. But the Leo Sun was out shining brighter today (its Saturday night as I write this) and I was in Brooklyn having brunch with my brother. It was an hour before the eclipse when we got done so we decided to walk to Prospect Park and laze (one of my favorite ‘activities’) for a while.
Considering this eclipse took place on my IC (4th house cusp) I thought it was fitting for me to be laying on the Earth, staring at the Sun, with the eclipsed Moon below (and brother next to me. I just remember gazing at the sky and having an incredible feeling of aloneness which was a little unnerving, until I realized it was only all-one-ness. Then I thought of everyone I loved, including you reading, the world, said a little prayer in my heart and set it free…
Being an earth girl (four planets in Taurus) and a dreamer (Neptune in my first house,) too often I am overwhelmed by natures beauty and its ability to have me mystically lost in the ‘unsayable’ — so these are a few pictures I took at the time of the eclipse, saying what my heart can’t put in words.
Now that we are coming down form the energy of this powerful eclipse and the Moon has entered Pisces, we can expect a few revelations in the coming days and weeks. Yesterday Mars squared Pluto suggesting a final release of self-doubt before Pluto’s direct motion in two weeks. Pluto has been retrograde in Sagittarius since May this year and situations that have been on hold since this time, are likely to start moving forward bringing everything that now seems so under the surface back into action.
Overnight Mercury completed its grand trine to Jupiter and Vesta following closely behind Venus, who made exact aspects to the planets at the time of the eclipse. On Sunday Venus squares Juno in Sagittarius (closely conjunct the Great Attractor) followed by Mercury’s square to Juno on Monday, Aug. 18. Both planets are also now closely conjunct Saturn.
We may have had to make a few financial and emotional decisions over the past few days, which may have been rather difficult to wrap our heads and hearts around. Especially with the Sun-Neptune link which may have had us rubbing our eyes to make sure we were really looking at something real and not a fantasy. But the earth trine and conjunctions suggest we are in the midst of building something stable.
Juno currently on the Great Attractor has the potential to attract partnerships in our life that serve to touch many lives by their example of wisdom. In relationships now, we need to have acceptance of truth as it is, rather than criticize it or want to have all the answers. The key to dealing with squares is to strive for the highest attributes of both planets. This is an internal process, suggesting we can come to some key realizations within ourselves if we can find this balance.
Focus on the healing power of words and emotion setting free any judgments of what is good and bad. Virgo’s shadow of criticism does little in the way of healing. Juno’s presence in Sagittarius is a reminder that a relationship that has the potential to be absolutely horrendous, is equal in its potential to be truly divine. It is a matter of consciousness, acceptance and allowing the growth of that which is pure and in touch with a higher truth.
Even wild flowers growing in the dirt long to touch the sky — it just depends on how we look at it.

Before I go, I’ve been listening to Standing on the Moon by the Grateful Dead a lot over the past couple of days. A client and reader sent it to me last week, after hearing of my story at the Police concert (thanks Bobby!). It fits the mood of this eclipse so well given the state of the world and our hearts, so I thought I’d share… Enjoy!

Standing on the moon
I see a shadow on the sun
Standing on the moon
The stars go fading one by one
I hear a cry of victory
And another of defeat
A scrap of age old lullaby
Down some forgotten street
Standing on the moon
Where talk is cheap and vision true
Standing on the moon
But I would rather be with you
Somewhere in San Francisco
On a back porch in July
Just looking up to heaven
At this crescent in the sky
Standing on the moon
With nothing left to do
A lovely view of heaven
But I’d rather be with you – be with you
