A stone’s throw from Jerusalem
I walked a lonely mile in the moonlight
And though a million stars were shining
My heart was lost on a distant planet
That whirls around the April moon
Whirling in an arc of sadness
I’m lost without you I’m lost without you
Though all my kingdoms turn to sand
And fall into the sea
I’m mad about you I’m mad about you

Dear Friends,
Here we are in April, one of the most anticipated (or not) months of the year with a rare Cardinal Grand Cross aligns on April 23, 2014 as Mars in Libra, Jupiter in Cancer, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn align in the shape of a cross, forming 90 degree angles to each other with the Earth in the center.
There may be a feeling being stretched to the limit, pulled in four directions or cornered with no way out. But as the month progresses a situation is reaching critical mass, leading to a much needed breakthrough, restoring imbalances of power, paving the way for a new future.
Everything is up in the air and subject to change at a moment’s notice. There’s no point in trying to predict it. Or as Michael Lutin said “It’s not going to go down the way you think. It never does with Uranus. In fact if you predict it, it CAN’T happen.” But it’s also true, you have more options than you think. And it is the choices you make and how you respond to situations, that will determine how the story unfolds for you.
But before I get into the astrology, I’d like to take a moment to remember astrologer Kelly Lee Phipps, who passed away on Mar. 25, 2014 after his battle with brain cancer. Kelly’s contribution to astrology and the astrological community is invaluable. He was clearly loved by many, a true Aquarian in his ability to bring people together people, in life and in death.
It’s his memorial today, Apr. 2, 2015, and my heart and prayers are with his mother Brenda, son Arian, brother Jason, his family, friends and all who loved him. And I ask you to keep them in your prayers as well.
I remember meeting Kelly in Denver at the UAC where he gifted me a copy of his film Return of the Magi. Since then we exchanged a few emails over the years and Kelly was always very generous with his knowledge. Allthough I did not know Kelly very closely personally, his enthusiasm, spirit and energy was certainly unique and left a lasting impression and I know I’m not alone in that sentiment.
Last summer, just a few months before Kelly’s diagnosis, I happened to hear an interview he did in which he spoke of how people with a very strong Moon-Mercury aspects in their chart, carry the signature of the Hecate — the Greek Goddess of the cross-roads.
I have a Mercury-Moon conjunction in my chart and I related to this deeply. It had been years since I contacted him last, but I emailed him right away thanking him for sharing that. He wrote back right away saying he would send me a copy of the book and the section for Hecate when he was done. Again, I was blown away by his generosity and graciousness to a relative stranger.
Ever since I’ve been researching Hecate, her myth and astrological influence more closely, especially now as we stand at this particular “cross-roads” in our personal and global history.
Then a couple of days ago, as I reflected on life, death, Kelly and the current astrology, suddenly it came to me to look up the asteroid Hecate in this configuration. And go figure she is conjunct the North Node and Moon, to the degree, at the time of the Total Lunar Eclipse on April 15, 2014! Her presence with that kind of precision, and the series of events that led up to discovering her position, tells me to pay attention. And I have Kelly to thank for pointing the way.
So pay attention to what comes through in the days following the Eclipse, this is showing you need to know, so you can make wise, pivotal, life-changing choices as the Grand Cross aligns on April 23, 2014.
On April 15, 2014 a Total Libra Lunar Eclipse aligns with the Moon, Hecate and the North Node in an exact conjunction at 25+ Libra marking major endings and new beginnings, especially in relationships, asking for a balance between personal needs and the needs of another or others.
As the Moon is shadowed and then revealed again — similarly there is a sense of the slate being wiped clean as new information comes to light. With Mercury conjunct Uranus at the time of the Eclipse there are likely to be shocking, mind-blowing or surprising, at the least, revelations, and perhaps information surfacing that could change everything. As much as what’s unfolding challenges your beliefs, it is liberating you from patterns you’ve outgrown and oppressive situations. With the Sun on the South Node in Aries, there is a clearing of the past and a reminder that actions speak louder than words — yours and others’.
The Nodes of the Moon are very Karmic, evolutionary points. And in my experience, they represent the “entry” and “exit” points out of this cycle of life, birth, death and re-birth; out of the limitations of time and space, into eternity.
At the time of an Eclipse with the Sun and Moon aligned with the Nodes, we’re aligned with destiny, offering a greater than usual opportunity to be liberated to recognize one’s immortal essence and inherent one-ness with all that is.
