In a Natal Chart, the 12 Houses, represent fields of experience in our lives — and the “location” of any astrological activity.
When we read a chart we look to the sign on the Ascendant (1st House/Rising sign) and count counter-clockwise to locate the 12 Houses.
ASTROLOGICAL HOUSE GUIDE
1st HOUSE: Self, physical body, identity
2ND HOUSE: money, possessions, closest bonds, values
3RD HOUSE: communication, transportation, siblings
4TH HOUSE: home, family, property, “the ground you stand”, sense of security, father
5TH HOUSE: Youth, fun, sex, creativity, Children, ability to take risks, the present
6TH HOUSE: Work, health, healing, chores, daily routines, daily processes, systems, small animals, subordinates, colleagues
7TH HOUSE: All one-to-one relationships, as well as “open enemies.”
8TH HOUSE: Death, taxes, shared resources, commitments, bloodlines, inheritances, what’s taboo.
9TH HOUSE: Higher education, legal matters, spirituality, religion, “what we know of God”.
10TH HOUSE: Profession, career, public image, mother, authority and relationship with authority.
11TH HOUSE: Community, peers, friends, social networks, freedom, liberation, spiritual liberation, dreams “fulfillment of wishes.”
12TH HOUSE: Dreams, subconscious, “pleasures of the bed”, cosmic consciousness, “God as an experience”
