You don’t know if it’s fear or desire
Danger the drug that takes you higher
Head in heaven, fingers in the mire

Her heart is racing, you can’t keep up
The night is bleeding like a cut
Between the horses of love and lust
We are trampled underfoot

Dear Friends,

Today, the Aries Sun and Mars in Libra face-off as they form an exact opposition to each other at 5:03 PM EDT today April 8, 2014. Also the Moon entered Leo this morning and Mercury is now in Aries, adding to the fiery, passionate energy.

There is a sense of urgency today and everyone is feeling the heat. But it may feel like the faster you go, the more there is to get done. Or a feeling of taking one step forward and two steps back.

Relationships are heating up, and the aspects today certainly fanning passion, calling for spontaneity. But people may seem to be blowing hot and cold, making it hard to understand where someone else is coming from, or not knowing where you stand with someone or in a situation.

Not everything is about you, so avoid taking things personally. You can’t force someone to feel or act the way you do either. Yet, what’s unfolding is revealing a deeper truth about yourself, allowing you to reconnect with your passion.

If you find yourself getting restless or impatient, take a deep breath and ask yourself — do you know what you want? Where are you going? And more importantly, who are you?

The Sun is in Aries and Mars is the ruler of Aries, retrograde in Libra the sign opposite from Libra. So although there is a desire to move forward and deeper into something, there may still be a sense of hesitancy and holding back.

This doesn’t mean something is wrong, or dangerous or there is anything you need to fear. But caution and awareness is healthy, so you don’t jump from the frying pan into the fire, or rushing off too far in the wrong direction. This is a necessary balancing out of your own desires so you can discover an important truth about yourself and respond to situations from your center, rather than react in panic, haste or be motivated by fear. Then a situation can find it’s natural balance.

There may even be relationships, situations or ghosts from the past coming up for resolution. Rather than trying to base your decisions on someone else and then be thrown off balance if the other person takes another direction — be honest with yourself.

Acknowledge any anger or frustration, rather than project it onto others, or blame another. Also, own and acknowledge your own desires, your passion, or fears of rejection, failure, intimacy, commitment, needs for validation, acceptance or whatever they may be — rather than trying to fight or deny them, or hold to expectations of them being reciprocated. Then you can weigh out your options and clear the air with another if need be, and choose a course of action or the relationships that are important to you.

Similarly, if you find yourself running around with too much to do and feeling overwhelmed, this is your cue to pause, breathe and find your center. Then you can channel your energy effectively, prioritizing what is important to you rather trying to get everything done, pleasing others and getting nothing accomplished. Do what you can, do your best, and trust the rest will fall into place.

Jupiter in Capricorn trines Vesta in Taurus, Mars enters Libra, Ceres enters Leo

“If you do not breathe through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don’t write, because our culture has no use for it.” — Anais Nin

Tonight (its about 2AM as I write this) I’m not sure if I should sing or cry, I’m kind of doing both as I write this so I thought the quote was an appropriate one. The eclipse season was rather intense personally on an internal level, with a few breakthroughs and lot of “mental” letting go. But true to the astrology, as the Moon drifted through Pisces over the past couple of days the revelations have poured in and I’ve just been a big puddle of emotion, just like everyone I’ve talked to.

Astrology is what keeps me grounded in the awareness of a greater reality. Writing this blog is therapeutic because it forces me to live by my words and helps me connect with you. We are no different in our joy than we are in our grief and Saturn in my ninth house, is constant a reminder that I answer to a higher power and my faith in him is unshakable. Eric (Francis) once told me, “When you write, it should feel like you are bleeding on the page,” and I’ve taken that as solid advice. Every word I write is a word I live — usually you get my calm Taurus self, but tonight the Scorpio in me is feeling the light and darkness of the universe in just a little higher contrast than usual, so I hope you will bear with me.

On the one hand, I feel like I have more fun than anyone I know. But I could have probably been a millionaire by now if I had sold all bitter-sweet lemonade I’ve had to make in this lifetime. Then again I look at everyone around me and we all deal with our own demons. Pain is pain, no matter who feels it or why. It’s just as real to the person feeling it. With all my Taurus planets in my 6th house and the Sun on my descendant, it is natural for me to want to heal. Its easy for me to lose myself in another’s world, stand in another’s shoes and all that good stuff.

But I am learning (and this is my lesson) everyone heals in their own time, no matter how much we want it to happen now. It doesn’t matter if you turn on the lights if someone is hell bent on having their eyes shut or is just plain blind. Often the scariest movies are the ones where we can’t see the monster, leaving us to our overactive imagination. But now as the Sun-Neptune opposition wanes, the fog is lifting and we can expect a lot more clarity over the coming days if we are willing to open our eyes to the truth. Its not as scary as it “feels.”

The aspects feel as though we are being asked to walk on water, without being told how deep it is. But trust me when I say there are enough stabilizing aspects and as Jupiter trines Vesta today (completing the grand trine with Venus and Mercury in Virgo), there is earthy abundance in our core that can have us reaching a tangibly rewarding peak if we are willing to make the effort.

It is in our ability to give selflessly to our passion be it creatively in the work we do, or sexually in our relationships that has the power to give us solid proof of our efforts. Remind yourself of the bigger picture and then allow yourself to give knowing that hard work is always rewarded, but if we can do it with joy, indeed faith and patience maybe the only other crutches we need. In giving we can receive and that has never been more true than now.

Also today, Mars ingresses Libra and Ceres ingresses Leo. Libra (ruled by Venus) is the sign that rules the 7th house of the zodiac representing traditionally marriage and our most important one to one relationships. It is the sign opposite of the 1st house of self — Aries (ruled by Mars,) where we learn how to interact with another and in that learning evolve into a higher consciousness; discovering aspects of ourselves that we may have never seen before without a ‘mirror.’

Mars changing signs is always a noticeable transit because, well Mars likes to be noticed. It may be hard, if not impossible to turn a blind eye to in-equalities in relationships now. Libra ruled by Venus is a sign that needs deep balance, harmony and justice. Mars’ brash attitude is what we need to watch out for in our relationships; this could be a bit of a bull in a china shop effect if we are not careful. Everyone is feeling a little raw and what sounds like anger, may just be deep hurt. Over the next few weeks in all relationships, Mars suggests actions speak louder than words. Show rather than tell.
