Dear Readers and Friends, and a warm welcome to all the new readers from Yasmin’s site,
It’s New Years eve and we’re at the end of another year. Each one seems to go by faster than the last. I really wanted to post a little list of the things I learned this year. With all the pile of writing on my desk it may have to wait. But I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your love and support through this past year. I am happy to have the opportunity to connect with each and everyone of you everyday and consider you an irreplaceable part of my extended family.
It’s easy to feel nostalgic about the past at this time, not only because it is that time of the year but somehow astrological forces have combined with our “human” calendar and we are indeed standing in new territory. We are in the era of Pluto in Capricorn and there are new rules in this land, but first we are going to have to let go of the old ones. And if you look around, even through the earthquakes something very solid and grounding has begun to emerge since this recent New Moon in Capricorn. (Nothing like good old earthy energy to level things out.)
As I write this the Moon is in Aquarius sending general vibes of bitter- sweet love and goodness as made aspects to conjuncts Chiron, Neptune and Venus through the day. Saturn is now stationary in Virgo and turns retrograde tomorrow, we may be about to un-earth something very useful. Focus on the big picture as much as you can without getting lost in the details.
It’s almost as if time is standing still right now and the decisions and choices we are making are likely to be rock solid. As Mercury conjuncts Jupiter tomorrow we are being asked to choose wisely and with faith, and we can go far. Resolutions are likely to stick this time, so why not hope for the best and be willing to make it happen?
Personally, I wish I was somewhere in nature rather than staring at the brick wall outside my window. I love the city, but in my hermit months the cave can get a little tiring. (My horoscope says God is listening so who knows? he may be reading too.) But I have my best friend visiting from London for the weekend (which was completely unexpected) and we’ll meet up with the other girls in town so I’m looking forward to a fun New Years eve.
Above is a poem by Niles U. Comer (who I consider my personal prophet) from his series Zen Dreams which I thought was befitting this divine moment in eternity… and the prayer in my heart as I begin this New Year. This will be my resolution for each morning that I wake up in 2009…
With that, I wish you a very safe and joyous 2009 filled with faith, love and magic,
Priya, NYC
