A quick check-in with the astrology, on this very auspicious day. We are just past a very fertile New Moon in Taurus, with the Moon now in Cancer.
According to the Vedic Calendar, today marks ‘Akshaya Tritiya.’ “The word “Akshaya” means “the never diminishing” in Sanskrit;” [and “Tritiya” meaning “third.”]
It is said, that what you set into motion on this day grows, and never diminishes. This is also a very popular and auspicious ‘tithi’ for marriages in India.
“It falls on the third Tithi (Lunar day) of Bright Half (Shukla Paksha) of the pan-Indian month of Vaishakha.” This coincides with the third day after the Taurus New Moon in the Tropical Zodiac.
This also gives us a deep insight into the nature and root essence of this current energy of the waxing Moon in Cancer after a New Moon in Taurus: moist, fertile earth in the spring, an infinite creative source and fecund womb to plant seeds of permanence, growth, abundance and eternal life.
Significantly, the recent lunation was the first Solar Eclipse in Taurus since 1995. And with it’s conjunction to the South Node there is a sense of coming full circle with the past or with something that began then.
As we move to the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse and the planets move from Taurus to Gemini, there is as yet untapped potential that is being released. There could even be second chances now to create a new reality. You’re in the possession of magic beans. If you feed negativity, suspicion or doubt that is what will bear fruit.
Choose wisely, let your roots go deep into the earth, beyond the surface material treasures, as you nurture what is truly of value, with love, care and patience.
