Virgo New Moon at 8+ degrees

Dear Friends and Readers

Welcome to the Virgo New Moon! It has been an intense week with lots of release and clearing space for healing. Personally I’ve been lucky to have my friend Paul around. We were walking back from lunch today on Second Avenue and almost saw a rainbow over the east river. I say almost because I know it was only blocked behind the skyline. But the sun shone bright and it was raining and I know it was out there. Kind of like this New Moon — be patient now, there’s a rainbow waiting for those who want to see it.

Later we came home and I wrote the New Moon report with Paul playing his bass in the background — soothing me and watering these words. So although this New Moon report is usually part of subscription service, today I offer this to you for all of you who are not yet subscribers. Here is the permanent link for this New Moon or on the Moon Report page link on the top of this blog page.

Please feel free to forward and enjoy! — priya

Welcome to the Virgo New Moon that takes place on Aug. 30, 2008 at 2:57 PM in New York, 7:57 PM in the UK and 5:57 AM in Australia on Aug. 31, 2008. At the time of the lunation the Sun and Moon also form a close conjunction to Saturn in Virgo and trine to Jupiter in Capricorn. Also at this time personal planets Mars, Mercury and Venus are in Libra, after their recent squares to Pluto.

With the solid, fertile, earth energy and the personal planets in an air sign this chart feels like a warm breeze blowing over a great mountain. Indeed the recent eclipses have done much in the way of bringing almost shocking clarity on important situations. New Moons are always a time for seeding new beginnings and with the strength of Saturn and Jupiter, trust that we are now planting mighty oaks.

All the recent activity with the personal planets suggests relationships are in the spotlight right now. We’ve had surrender our attachment to worn out beliefs and we may be feeling just a little emotionally raw with the recent Venus-Pluto aspect. But with the New Moon in the sign of the healer and virgin, there is an opportunity for deep earthy healing to occur. Sexually if we are able to find a way to ground this tremendous release of energy now, we could find ourselves reaching a solid peak of ecstasy.

As my medicine-woman-Scorpio-sister Nadine recently said to me “No one but a Taurean could ground the raw sexual energy into a sensual softness that beckons rather than frightens.” Venus and Pluto rulers of Taurus and Scorpio are both signs that rule sex and money and hold tremendous creative energy.

Financial situations as well as the global economy are likely to see a few breakthroughs as a result of this same culminating energy. Creatively as well this could be a profoundly explosively inspirational time taking us to new heights of imagination. Venus ingress in her home sign at the time of the New Moon softening the energy from what may have felt like wind gale, into a soft breeze allowing creativity and love to flow.

With Mercury now “sandwiched” between Mars and Venus, very simply this tells me the answer is communication and expression. Libra is the sign of relationships and with the planets arranged the way they are – any situations surround love, passion, relationships, finances can be grounded through honest, fair communication. We are starting new, so needless to say this is also a time for letting go of the past. Nourish that which is craning for the light and weed out the rest. What the heart now so desires, may only be one honest, real, conversation away.

Indeed recent aspects and eclipses have made their message very clear. Be it in our personal lives or the world we live in today, we can’t go on living with our heads in the sand anymore. As Pluto and Jupiter stand stationary in the sky, preparing for direct motion, the sky is literally thundering and shaking with change — ready to release unbelievably tangible opportunities and divine wisdom. Truly the aspects suggest that our seemingly lofty aspirations may not be so out of reach after all. Saturn’s presence suggests a degree of hard work may be required but as Jupiter turns direct on the Sep. 7, if we are willing to commit to something we are bound to receive the rewards.

Poignantly the Sun sextiles Huya, a minor planet named after the rain god of the Wayuu Indians. Huya (pronounced Juya) was god of rain; a warrior, hunter, seducer and inhabitant of “the place beyond the Sun.” As the Sun and Moon sextile Huya at the time of this New Moon, indeed this is the image of rain over fertile soil. Don’t underestimate the power of new beginnings that can lead to a healing and rich harvest if we put in the effort to make what we need to happen, happen. Make those wishes and watch them sprout.

Jupiter in Capricorn and Saturn in Virgo (along with the Sun and Moon) are in a close grand trine with Vesta in Taurus and Eros in Virgo. This rich earthy energy is making us keenly aware of our deep desire for something on someone. Jupiter retrograde suggests that there is something about this attraction or passion we are feeling that is likely to be internally expansive. We are learning that ultimately this immense force of passion awakening an awareness of endless abundance that lies deep within the core as represented by Vesta in Taurus. The more we can give to what we feel so deeply the more we are bound to receive.

Also shortly before the New Moon Quaoar, stations direct in Sagittarius. If this does not suggest the potential and opportunity for creating new patterns, I don’t know what does. Just remember the definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. We need to consciously break free of the past if we want to create our future as we envision it.

Also the recent discovery of a minor planet Altjira named after the Australian aboriginal god at this time carries a very powerful message for humanity and in our very human, personal lives. According to the Wiki, “Aboriginals believe in two forms of time. Two parallel streams of activity. One is the daily objective activity… The other is an infinite spiritual cycle called the ‘dreamtime,’ more real than reality itself. Whatever happens in the dreamtime establishes the values, symbols, and laws of Aboriginal society. Some people of unusual spiritual powers have contact with the dreamtime.

It is said that Altjira had the ability to shape-shift, that reminds me of Indian mythology which indeed suggests that the entire world is an illusion that pours out of nothingness. Creation and ultimately manifestation is indeed the work of a divine creator that dreamed it all up. Whenever there is a planetary discovery, we are opened up to another level of consciousness. With Altjira in Gemini, in a close trine to Mars at the time of discovery, indeed the messages seem coming through fast, loud and strong.

This is an extremely powerful New Moon, grounding our dreams in reality. We are standing now at yet another threshold so great that it may almost seem unbelievable. Its feels like we are standing at the top of a high mountain looking down at where we need to go next. What do you dream of? You may now actually be able to watch it come to life.

I wish you a joyous, centered, lush New Moon as you plant the seeds of life’s dream for you.

Here,

Priya
