We are in February now and this is a leap year. Of course this is also the dreaded or celebrated month of Valentine’s day. Personally I have nothing against the day, but then I feel every day should be Valentine’s day. Why wait for one day out of the year to celebrate your love or show someone we love them? In the spirit of Venus in Aries (where she is currently) remember love is an action, behavior and verb, not a noun.
Even so looking at the astrology for Valentine’s day, the Moon will be in Scorpio which is definitely a conduit for deep passionate feelings. If you are with a lover things could easily get hot and heavy. But Scorpio also brings darker energies and emotions to the surface. Work on consciously facing your demons, and letting go of emotional baggage or pain you’ve carried around for way too long. Then there can be true transformation, intimacy and deepening of connections.
On February 13, 2012 Mercury in Aquarius trines Saturn in Libra with both planets at 29+ degrees of the signs. This aspect is offering a chance for deep communication in relationships. A chance to clear the air, reach a solid understanding of a situation and re-addressing a crucial balance of power. Honesty will be key, as will be willingness to listen and most importantly compromise.
On February 14, 2012 Mercury enters Pisces Mercury makes a conjunction to Neptune on February 14, 2012 a sure sign asking us not to get carried away in a fantasy or believe everything we’re told. Although this could get rather poetic on the one hand, there is the shadow side we need to be aware of. Neptune, as mystical, poetic, artistic and magical as its energy can be, can on the shadow side bring an influence of deception, denial, delusion.
Truth is we can’t be lied to unless there is something within us that truly wants us to believe something. The next day, Mercury will also conjunct Chiron, suggesting we confront truth even if it pains us to do so. Only then can there be true healing. Also Jupiter is in Taurus in a sextile to Chiron (and Mercury and Neptune) this is giving us something solid to work with. As much as may there may be a sense of idealism this aspect can give us the necessary grounding needed to work towards making a dream a reality.
Venus squares Pluto the very next day on February 15, 2012, which means the influence will be strongest before then. Anytime Venus-Pluto are in aspect we tend to deal with obsessive emotions, issues surrounding power, control especially in love relationships and financial situations. But squares also represent a turning point, and this aspect is asking for an inner transformation. With Venus in Aries, square Pluto in Capricorn we are likely dealing with issues surrounding our inherent desires versus what we think is expected of us. Or what we truly want (to be happy) vs. how we think we can get it.
Rather than look at the point of control as external, it may be a question of not giving away power to the external and letting go of conditioning of the way things have always been done. Financially and personally in relationships, look at what is — and if you don’t like it then ask yourself what you can do to change it. Also remember happiness can never be based on any external factor. And as long as our happiness is conditioned on the external or expectations of what we need so we can be happy we are setting ourselves up for a fall. True happiness can only come from within then it is easier to surrender and move into life fearlessly knowing that only we are responsible for our happiness. This aspect is also asking us to accept responsibility for the life we have created then we can see what is in our power to change.
On February 17, 2012 Venus trines the North Node, suggesting there will come a feeling of finally being on the road to success with personal goals – financially, creatively and within personal relationships. Aim high and look towards what you are creating for the long term. Venus is still in Aries, with Mars retrograde in Virgo — suggesting if we move forward with single-minded purpose and be driven by passion we can open ourselves up to a new world — allowing us to discover what we are truly capable of manifesting. Know your potential and the sky is the limit.
On February 19, 2012 the Sun enters Pisces bringing a shift in the energy and on the same day the Sun also makes a conjunction to Neptune. While the Aquarius Sun brought a focus on learning to balance our individuality with those of the people around us, Pisces invites us to go deeper and surrender to the flow of life, rather than resisting the current and trying to swim upstream.
It is a scientific fact that water when it is rushing down the river it will curve and swerves past the rocks. We can learn from this that the more we let go of fear we can surrender to the natural flow of life and naturally avoid the obstacles in one’s path. In Pisces, the sign of cosmic consciousness this can bring a greater awareness of the eternal nature of our own beings. Use the transit of the Sun in Pisces to get in touch with the inner stirrings and yearnings of your soul. Also the conjunction to Pisces is bringing to light many of the more unconscious stirrings to surface.
Dreams are likely to be rather vivid, and they may offer a clue to current situations. But the aspect is also a reminder to maintain clarity, rather than get lost in a fantasy or an overly idealistic vision. Only then can there be a manifestation of what we hope to accomplish. Reach for something soulful, rather than seek superficial glamor or fantasies. What we seek is the kind of happiness or success that lasts, not just 15 minutes of fame that dissipates as quickly as it arrives. All this will begin by being absolutely honest with oneself and in no denial of one’s potential, in that there can be a discovery and awareness of a greater depth than we thought we were capable of.
February 21, 2012 marks the Pisces New Moon at 2+ degrees, starting us on a powerful new cycle of reaching for our most soulful ambitions and dreams. Use the time before the New Moon to release illusions and superficial desires and dare to go deep within yourself as you re-birth. On February 25, 2012 the Sun will sextile Jupiter in Taurus (bringing a continuation of events that first began to emerge with conversations that took place earlier this month as Mercury sextiled Jupiter on February 16, 2012.) This is a rather fertile aspect allowing us to give solid form to something that has until now been a hope. Be imaginative, yet realistic and you can go far with this.
On February 28, 2012 the Sun sextiles Pluto in Capricorn — suggesting deep changes are possible at this time. It may require us to let go of old ambitions that no longer serve our true purpose. This will require courage but in letting go there can be a discovery of the deeper potential that exists.
Finally as we end the month on February 29, 2012 the Sun will square the North Node bringing us to an important turning point in our destiny. Pay close attention to what is unfolding now. We are at any given point consciously or unconsciously creating our future here. You are the captain of your ship, and make no mistake, the choices you make now are charting the course of your future so make them in total consciousness.
