Aquarius New Moon report: Jan. 27 – Feb. 10, 2017
Dear Friends,
It’s an unusually warm winter evening here in Hudson, NY. But then there is not much in our world that is as “usual” or “normal,” right now.
I mentioned in my video in Mars in Pisces that life was was likely to feel surreal in January — for better or for worse. And it is. We’re living in historic times and nothing is quite as it seems on the surface.
As I write this the Moon is in Scorpio moving to a trine to Mars in Pisces, suggesting profoundly penetrating and deep changes unfolding on all levels — seen and unseen — emotionally and in the world around us.
As you move to the New Moon, this is a chance for deep release — emotionally, physically, mentally, psychologically and on all levels.
Clear space, then you can invite in fresh energy and new beginnings with the Aquarius New Moon; which brings a cornucopia of possibilities and true sense of freedom from a lot of what’s currently weighing you down — and a way forward, where you currently/previously saw none.
The Moon enters Sagittarius bright and early Sunday morning, here in NY, at 5:45 AM EST — bringing with it a sense of, if not optimism then at least, foresight on the road and journey ahead.
As the Moon moves through Sagittarius over the next two days and over Saturn, it’s also bringing you the awareness of what must be left behind, if you want to move through the gates to create a new reality.
We do have miles to go before we reach the end of this particular journey. Saturn first entered Sagittarius back in late December 2014 for a few months and then again in September 2015; and ingresses Capricorn in December 2017, later this year — marking a new chapter in our personal and collective history.
The recent Cancer Full Moon opposite the Sun and Pluto in Capricorn, square the Jupiter-Uranus opposition, on Jan. 12, 2017 set wheels in motion. The Aquarius New Moon on Jan. 27, 2017 ushering us into a whole new and unknown world; and aspects and planetary shifts suggest this is no ordinary lunation.
At the time of the Aquarius New Moon: Mars will be at the anaretic degree in Pisces, Mercury at the end of shadow phase approaching Pluto, and Venus soon to enter shadow phase as she approaches her retrograde in early March. (On Jan. 28: Mercury leaves shadow phase, conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn and Mars enters Aries; Jan. 30: Venus enters shadow phase at 26+ Pisces.)
Also very notably — Saturn changes signs from Scorpio to Sagittarius in the sidereal zodiac on Jan. 26, 2017. Western astrology (which I write on this Blog) follows the tropical zodiac, but with Saturn — you can be sure we will feel this shift in energy. Saturn is also the traditional ruler of Aquarius, where the New Moon takes place; even if I’m jumping across systems here — it is not a coincidence and the sense of change reverberates strongly.
We’re also officially entering Eclipse season, as this New Moon, leads to the first Eclipse of 2017 — and the first in this series of the Leo-Aquarius Eclipses as the Nodes change signs. If you read this Blog or follow astrology, you must be aware by now life tends to accelerate at the time of Eclipses.
Over the past 18 months the Nodes have been transiting through Virgo-Pisces, asking that we lose the illusions and do the work in the areas of our lives ruled by Virgo-Pisces. As the Nodes and Eclipses shift, the areas of your life ruled by Leo and Aquarius are about to go through a significant transition over the next 18 months.
The Sun (ruler of Leo) is in Aquarius now. Aquarius energy is very revolutionary. It is the sign of the collective, and the individual. Millions of women marched today in a historic protest, reflecting the current energy and times of change we are living in.
Change is here now. But there’s no point in pointing fingers and blame, when there’s work to be done. Stand up for what is true, and against injustice at all cost — but also remember change begins with YOU and ME.
Until we change ourselves we can’t change the world, and it’s all a work in progress — always, all the time. You could say: there is never going to be one moment when life is “perfect” — or then every moment is “perfect.” Change is the only constant in the material world. Creation and destruction, these are the cycles of nature — as are the seasons.
As the planets turn, so does our experience of reality. Only meditation can help us center ourselves, keep us connected with the infinite, eternal, constant, unchanging source — so we aren’t tossed around on this “Wheel of Fortune” called life.
I’ve been going on about it, but I have learnt this the hard way — so I pass it on to you: develop a daily mediation practise. It’s the only real way to find the lasting clarity, inner peace, and inner-strength, you need. Then you can truly be liberated to be a source of inspiration, and force for change; not through words or even action, but simply by your presence, example and being.
I’ll be back with more astrology and exciting updates on the NEW website very soon so stay tuned!
With Love,
Priya
