This month’s Aquarius New Moon occurs at 7:07 PM EST on Jan. 27, 2017, seeding the energy over the next two weeks till the Leo Full Moon and Penumbral Eclipse.

We are living in times of incredible, undeniable, palpable, and real change; seeing the total collapse of already crumbling structures, revealing the interconnectedness of all things, through time and space (which are both man made concepts.)

Aquarius is the sign that rules groups, the collective consciousness, the “people,” technology, friends, social circles, and community. It is the sign of the collective, and of the individual; what is unique, and what is alien; genius and insanity; revolution and chaos.

We’re seeing every shade of this energy manifest now. If you think things are crazy now, tighten your seatbelt because life is about to get a whole lot weirder. Moving forward from the Aquarius New Moon, to the Leo Full Moon and Eclipse, these next two weeks ask for emotional detachment, yet deep presence – allowing you to respond to life, spontaneously as necessary.

Mars in Aries: Jan. 27 – Mar. 9, 2017

Mars was at 29+ Pisces at the time of the lunation and enters Aries shortly after to join Uranus (modern ruler of Aquarius.) Over the coming two weeks, expect to have a visceral experience and awareness that: you are every man and woman.

Through December and January you’ve hopefully been discovering deeper potential in yourself and situations.  The New Moon is bringing a sense of clarity and hopefully it’s dawning on you: you can be anyone or anything you want to be. But who are you at your essence, and what do you want? Dive deeper into your own soul and sense of being, then you can dance with existence rather than feel overwhelmed or like you are drowning.

Mars’ entry and transit through Aries is time to “go for it” with single pointed determination. With all that’s unfolding in the world — there’s a sense of it’s now or never. If there is confusion or doubt, I would suggest you wait till you have clarity, rather than act in haste or paranoia and make matters worse. Life is as uncertain as it has ever been, but hopefully you allow this to fuel and liberate you to be wholly and authentically yourself.

There’s a sense of being a newborn in a new unknown world. Ask yourself — is this new world a scary place? Or are you filled with a sense of curiosity, wonder and possibility? Are you fired up? Angry?

It will not help to deny, or suppress, how you feel — even if it is unsure, angry, scared, helpless, powerless, or any other unpleasant emotion. Anger can be a great motivator. Fear too is the body’s natural response to danger. Trust and be guided by your instincts; but be conscious of how you direct the energy.

More than acting or doing, this energy is about “being.” Be yourself, and trust your ability now to deal with situations head on as they arise. Only the fearful can be controlled and manipulated. Be fearless. Especially with Mars in Aries, the only thing to fear is fear itself.

It’s also important to note Uranus the modern ruler of Aquarius is currently in Aries. The collective dissent is growing, situations are heating up and this is being experienced on a very personal level in a very individual way. This is not about rebellion for rebellions sake. If you truly want to bring about constructive change you have to be smart and conscious about it.

Find your balance — with self-awareness, you can use emotions to fuel you. Then you can respond creatively and consciously, (rather than react unconsciously) and help tip the scales towards balance and harmony.

Venus enters shadow on Jan. 30, 2016 — pay close attention to what unfolds at this time and in the first few days of February.

Venus is about values; and it’s time to gain clarity on yours, in the midst of the toxicity pouring out in the world. With the New Moon in Aquarius — how do you value humanity? Now more than ever the sky is reflecting an eternal truth that we can choose to deny at our own peril: you are every person — what happens to one, could happen to you.

Even if you are not directly affected by what’s unfolding around or in the world right now — it won’t be long before you are. At that time there will come a moment, when you have to put your money where your mouth is.

As we move into Venus’ shadow and retrograde phase — be clear on your values; the Aquarius New Moon, asks that you reconnect with your humanity, and not be disconnected from it. Then you can find the power to make a real difference.

Only love can conquer hate. This is true for all situations — personal relationships with people you love, strangers, and especially those you oppose or consider “enemies.” Unconditional love, as all parents know — means sometimes having to say no, do the unpopular thing, or be willing to be the bad guy.

There’s a sense of coming full circle and having to revisit what you’re dealing with now, as Venus returns to Pisces and stations direct in April. You might not have direct control over the outcome — but what you put out will come back in some shape or form — so be conscious.

Venus is exalted in Pisces: envision your most hopeful vision as you move forward.  At best this is a deep immersion into an experience of unconditional love, and a limitless pool of creativity, asking you to become a vessel for it.
