Dear Friends,
We’re in Taurus season and just past a dramatic and powerful Scorpio Full Moon on May 4, 2015 at 13+ degrees opposite the Taurus Sun, with Jupiter at 13+ Leo forming a partile T-square to the lunation.
With Jupiter in the mix — this is BIG.You can expect major revelations to come through in the days that follow, bringing huge opportunities if we dare seize them.
With Scorpio the message is always change; but this is the kind of change that happens deep in the shadows. And the Moon in Scorpio, suggests a deeper emotional process of transformation unfolding, deep below the surface where it can’t be seen, only felt.
Unfolding events are seeping into emotional crevices, leaving no room to hide from the demons that must be faced. But still there is a sense, of a child looking for monsters under the bed. It requires real courage to turn the lights on, but once he or she does, there’s nothing to be afraid of.
Jupiter in Leo is also as regal as it gets and as if on cue, we have a new arrival — a Royal baby, to welcome into this world. I haven’t read any astrologer’s Blogs on the Princess’s chart yet, because I wanted to put my thoughts down first. I haven’t had the chance to dive into the chart, but at first glance she could be seen as a controversial figure, perhaps even rebellious. But she also has a spell binding and magical presence that would keep people entranced. Also much as she was born to live in the public eye, she likes her privacy more than most. And I suspect there is a whole side of her and her life that we may never or know very little about.
This Scorpio Full Moon also marks the culmination of the cycle that began with the Aries New Moon in its anaretic degree (29th/final degree,) with the Sun and Moon both changing signs to Taurus hours later. Taurus is the sign of the earth, and since then we’ve seen a devastating earthquake in Nepal and bordering countries, showing us the force of mother nature, the fragility of life and the intimate presence of death.
Mars (ruler of Aries, where Uranus is currently transiting) had just completed a trine to Pluto; I remember saying in my video at the time of the Aries New Moon, “you could move mountains with this energy.” The earth did shake and there was an avalanche on Mount Everest — the astrological symbolism doesn’t get more stark than that. And the Taurus Scorpio axis is as real as it gets.
At their essence, Taurus-Scorpio represent the eternal cycle of “life” and “death” — a reminder that all that is born must die. This Full Moon, also marks Wesak and Buddha Pornima, the lunation under which Buddha became the Buddha — “never born, never died.”
Taurus is the sign of physical energy, money, material possessions and deep commitments — reality. Scorpio represents death, transformation, metamorphosis, other peoples money, sex, genetic material, inheritances, bloodlines among other things. Both bind us to the material world; yet they ask for a deep surrender and release of attachments, so we can recognise true “reality” and “eternity.”
You can’t possess people, or you will suffocate and kill a relationship. And you can’t take your money with you when you die. All that matters is what is exchanged while in the flesh, and the only real thing of value, that lasts after death and is eternal is love. If you don’t seek to possess anyone or anything, the whole world is yours. But then how do you care for that which is “yours”? These are the lessons of Taurus and Scorpio in a nutshell.
That said we need to eat, pay the bills, feed ourselves and have shelter to have stability. Taurus and Scorpio both rule ‘money’ and “other peoples money,” making finances and joint finances a focus this month. Relationships too are changing and deepening.
Mercury is currently in Gemini and entered its shadow phase a few hours after the Full Moon and will station retrograde on May 19, 2015, suggesting a longer phase unfolding. Be clear about your values, and the value of what is being exchanged in any relationship, beyond just monetarily or on the surface. And don’t be afraid to release what isn’t working; have faith you can’t lose anyone or anything of true value.
The shore need not cling to the ocean.
