Happy Dassera!
Today marks the tenth day of the Libra New Moon cycle that began on Sep. 30, 2016, marking the festival of Vijayadashmi or Dassera — a very auspicious day, symbolising the Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahishasura. (A day of victory over inner demons, as we find balance.)
We’re fast head to the Aries Full Moon on Oct. 16, 2016 at 12:23 AM EDT at 14+ Aries and the energy is peaking.
Among other aspects, this lunation is conjunct Uranus in Aries, opposite the Sun in Libra. Here’s what I wrote in my recent Libra New Moon report — sent out to subscribers couple of weeks ago:
“Situations continue to smolder, and heat up, reaching critical mass by the Aries Full Moon (ruled by Mars.) On Oct. 15, 2016, the Sun opposes Uranus, followed by the Aries Full Moon on Oct. 16, 2016 in conjunction to Uranus — expect the unexpected.
“You’re reaching a moment of truth. This could be pretty volatile and explosive energy; we’re likely to hear of big perhaps shocking developments, as truth is exposed. If you’ve been in denial, or avoiding taking necessary action — this could be a wake up call, as the bubble bursts. Act in awareness and this could be a major breakthrough.
“Mercury in Libra sextiles Saturn at the time of the Full Moon, suggesting you are not alone in a situation and help is close at hand. And be grateful for all you are learning — it is freeing you to enter and strengthen relationships that truly value you for you, where there is mutual love respect support, and that give back equally as much as you have to give them.”
Life has certainly been busy and full on this end with really happy moments, overwhelmingly sad and shocking ones, as well as life-changing ones — my first taste of Jupiter in my Solar 6th House — asking and teaching me to keep my balance and stay focused.
Over the past week I learned of extremely sudden, shocking, and disturbing, news that shook me to the core — making me question the purpose of life; reminding me of the extreme fragility and transience of this mortal existence, and just how precious these fleeting moments in the flesh are.
Nothing is a greater (astrology) teacher than life itself. As bitter-sweet as it is — life is not without purpose. But to truly live a meaningful life, it is up to us to find purpose in every little moment, action, word, thought, and deed. You have to trust the process.
On that note, tomorrow I fly to California for the ISAR 2016 Forecasting Symposium, where I will be giving my first talk on “Chiron: Finding Purpose.”
I am truly honoured to be speaking along with so many astrologers, whose work I respect and admire deeply. If you’re in California (or close,) and would like to attend, I would highly recommend it — it’s going to be four days of profound learning and fun. (Information on Day passes and Full Conference passes, is available at the website.)
Poignantly, the recent Libra New Moon occurred at 8+ Libra in antiscia to Chiron at 22+ Pisces. This, and the events of the past two weeks, have not been lost on me as I prepared for my talk — which is born out of 10 years of research on Chiron and how it can help us find our individual sense of purpose, without which life can become a torturous existence.
These past two weeks have felt like a intense crash course but I’m excited to share what I have learned, and I think it’s important to consider given the state of the world today. So if you cannot be there, I will let you know where you can get an audio of it later.
I will be at the conference at the time of the Full Moon, and I can only imagine it will be a blast. With Uranus, we can expect the unexpected and this could be a wild ride. There are shocking or at very least surprising developments unfolding, and the truth is coming to light — but you have options and it will set you free. Stay safe, be aware, keep calm, breathe and keep your balance — then there can be a true sense of a breakthrough.
Reach for the stars and you might just land on the Moon…
Love and blessings for a prosperous Dassera,
Priya

A small request — If you can, please keep my friend’s mother and family in your prayers. Sending you love with the Moon tonight, Monika. RIP.
