Happy Diwali and a very Happy New Year dear friends,

We’re days past the Scorpio New Moon now, and there are deep changes a foot, even if you can’t see them yet.

We’re also in the throes of Diwali which began a day two days before the Scorpio New Moon, an extremely auspicious time of the year, signalling the victory of light over darkness.

It’s been a while since I updated this page and I’ve been meaning to check in for days now. As above so below — life has demanded my attention these past few months. Beside that, writing for my subscriber service and attending to Consultations, I haven’t had time for too much other writing.

Especially since Saturn entered Sagittarius, I’ve felt myself being very silent, taking in all the changes that have unfolded since Saturn passed through Scorpio (my first house.) I’ll have more to say about that and the changes unfolding behind the scenes.

But here’s a brief excerpt on the Astrology this week, as we move forward from this Scorpio New Moon — the first in the sign since Saturn left the sign.

I wrote the above before the tragic events unfolded in Paris earlier today.

The events are reflecting very much the energy of this Scorpio season — a reminder of the transience of life, the darkness of humanity and nearness of death. This is the world we live in. This is our reality. In the face of events like this we are forced to enter the unknown, question the meaning of our existence, knowing one of the few certainties of life is death. Only in fully confronting that truth, can we be liberated to live more wholly.

“We end the week on a quiet note, with a feeling of things finally starting to fall into place. Venus sextiles Saturn and Mercury sextiles Jupiter, on Friday leading us into the weekend when there are no major aspects between planets, giving us a brief respite from all the activity of the week, and before it picks up again next week as we move to the Full Moon.

“For all that was unknown and up in the air, there is a sense of having a real understanding of your choices and where you stand in a situation. You have more choices than you thought and there’s more to hope for where you thought all was lost.

“Also today marks the first day of Diwali, the Hindu “festival of lights,” symbolising as the name suggests the triumph of light over darkness. You cannot fight darkness; but by introducing light — you can dispel it. This is the process unfolding within each and every one of us, as in the Universe. Acknowledge your demons and wounds, and you can start an important process of healing and resurrection.
