A little late Happy Valentine’s Day and of course a Happy New Moon and Happy New Year of the Metal Tiger…
It’s Sunday evening as I write this on Feb. 14, 2010. We’re just past a potent Aquarius New Moon and have plenty of aspects coming up this week. Given that today is Valentine’s day, relationships are likely the focus.
Normally I would rant about the commercialization of Love — something money cannot buy. Don’t get me wrong — I’m a total romantic. But I’m sure you share my sentiment when I say, what’s wrong with telling someone we love them everyday? Do we really need Hallmark to remind us of our love, or feel miserable for not buying into the sham?
Regardless this year the stars do seem to be aligned rather harmoniously and there seems to be earthy, soulful, passion brewing this week. The most “romantic” dreamy aspect indeed occurs later in the week when Venus conjuncts Jupiter. But even over the next couple of days with the Mars-Venus aspects there can be fresh hope and inspiration, soothing wounds.
Over the next 24 hours, on Monday Feb. 15, 2010, Venus in Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn and Mars in Leo sextiles Saturn in Libra. Here is an excerpt from the Aquarius New Moon report describing these aspects —
“As Mars sextiles Saturn (with both planets retrograde) there can be a stabilization of something that has been a burning issue. There is likely to be an inner recognition of the need to put egos aside and work towards greater co-operation within relationships.
“With the Venus-Pluto sextile there can be opportunities to discover divine depths of intimacy — especially with Venus’ conjunction to Jupiter later this week. But Pluto rules the subconscious, so look at how subconscious fears or boundaries prevent you from experiencing something more fully. Look closely at past fears seeping into the present and coloring your perception of what is present and true in your world today.” — Priya Kale, Feb. 14, 2010, Aquarius New Moon report.
As the week progresses, expect the energy to shift pretty quickly. No doubt the recent past has been painful but in letting go – we are clearing space for something new to rush in. And if we can watch our expectations we could be more than delighted with what turns up.
I’ll be back with more astrology… In the meanwhile the Sample Weekly Horoscopes are in the post below this one.
Here’s wishing you all the love in the world,
Priya Kale, NYC

Also in the spirit of this Aquarius New Moon here is an excerpt from Painted Soul —
“We are all on a journey, a returning, seeking our Home.
“We are all ‘in this together’ – living on this planet, we need to re-member that we are all connected. Regardless of race, creed, color, or socioeconomic status…we are all members of the human family. The time is now for us to start living out that truth.
“Let us look inward and realize that the person sitting on the heating grate in the dead of winter is just that: a Person!
“The homeless are not statistics, nor a nuisance, nor a blight. “They” are someone’s son, daughter, father, mother.
THEY are US! For there is no Them in Us, there is only Us!
We all long to belong. We all feel pain. We all hunger for better days. We are all (just) humans in search of a Home.“Homelessness is a spiritual opportunity: an opportunity to touch and be touched by God’s grace.
Meeting people where they are, as they are – as humans – we are offered an opportunity: an opportunity to build a more just and loving world, an opportunity to reclaim some of our own humanity…and our own humanness.“By touching the hungry, the homeless, the hurting – including the hungry and hurting in us – I believe in some small way we touch the suffering Face of God…and find hope and healing.” — Niles Comer, Homesick for (a) Home: homelessness & the longing for home
