November Cosmic Weather report

________________

Late October marked a powerful New Moon in Scorpio marking a new beginning on the deepest of levels asking us to consciously confront inner demons, so we can move ahead with greater self-awareness of the eternal nature of our existence.

The Scorpio Sun each year takes us on an alchemical journey of resurrection, peeling back the layers of pain and darkness to reveal and indestructible light within. With Juno so closely conjunct the Scorpio New Moon late last month, relationships are going through a rather powerful transformation as well. A situation is evolving profoundly and the less we try to control a process, the easier and less painful it will be to move with the changes occurring.

Juno astrologically represents the bone of contention within a relationship. In Scorpio this is likely to point to issues relating to sex, power, control and money. How determined are we to maintain control or power within our relationships? ‘Till death do us part’ may be true but at what cost? Careful not to destroy the very thing you love with jealousy, expectation and negative emotions.

Especially given Juno opposed Jupiter at the time of the New Moon it is interesting to note –theirs was the first  marriage albeit a very tumultuous one. Jupiter had many trysts with other goddesses and mortals, invoking the wrath and insane jealousy of Juno who ultimately was always loyal and forgave him. The fear is if we let go, we may lose something precious to us or that we may venture in too deep, losing one’s self. But only in the death of something in its old form can there be transformation and re-birth.

It is when people feel out of control internally that they try to control the external; but in truth we cannot control anything outside of ourselves. Unless we are able to invest, share, let our resources flow and merge with others there is stagnation or death. In Scorpio there can be no stagnation, only transformation. When we cling to pain or pleasure or the past or what is inevitably changing is when we invite destructive energy into our lives, rather than flowing with a natural (albeit often invisible) process of metamorphosis.

Scorpio above all represents shared energy and resources; where we merge with another on the deepest levels, sexually, financially through genetic and ancestral history. The more conscious we become of internal attachments to darkness, pain, addictions, resentments as well as baggage carried over from past relationships, we can let go of holding on to them allowing us to surrender on a deeper level to discover mutual intimacy, trust, sexuality and prosperity.

Mercury and Venus have been traveling in close conjunction through October, revealing a darker, heavier reality to be faced within financial and personal situations if we want change. Early in the month on November 2, 2011 both Venus and Mercury enter Sagittarius and will square Chiron in Pisces soon after their ingress. Mercury enters shadow phase on November 5, 2011 and we are also in Eclipse season. You can expect important truths to surface around now, especially revelations surrounding love and money but the energy is certainly lighter, with the potential to restore faith and optimism.

The squares to Chiron ask for no denial or escapism and for deep awareness and brutal honesty with oneself. A psychological wound may be too painful to acknowledge, but only the truth will set you free, bringing you closer to the healing you seek.

Venus will remain in Sagittarius until Nov. 26, 2011 during this time she is in mutual reception with Jupiter in Taurus. These two signs couldn’t be more different in some ways – Sagittarians are known for their impatience, while Taureans are famous for their slow-moving nature. But naturally these signs have a lot to learn from each other: how to combine instinct with precision, knowing how to wait for the right opportunity but yet be ready to aim and shoot at the right moment when it arrives, having faith in a higher power that sustains and guides. This is the wisdom of the heart.

When it comes to love, creative projects or financial matters to be philosophical, patient and willing to see the bigger picture as you make your journey towards the abundance, love, joy you seek. Also keep your sense of humor about you. Learn to laugh about the little stuff, and especially if you want to open your heart to love, laugh together.

Venus enters Capricorn on Nov. 26, 2011 and conjuncts Pluto on Dec. 1, 2011 suggesting a huge transformation in sexual, personal and especially financial or business relationships. The Moon will be in Aquarius at this time in conjunction to Neptune so keep a healthy level of emotional clarity and detachment rather than engage in power struggles.

Financially as well as in love, let go of trying to cling to what is changing. Let go of attachment to superficial rules, ideas about relationships, success, ideologies, conditioning handed down by generations of society, parents and culture to find your true integrity. This is an important new cycle for the global economy, as well as for personal wealth, happiness and prosperity. This aspect is burning dross to leave behind only that which is pure and golden within a situation.

None of this may be easy but it does not have to be painful.Mercury enters shadow early in the month on Nov. 5, 2011 and will station retrograde on Nov. 24, 2011 (two days before the Sagittarius New Moon and Eclipse) and then direct again on Dec. 13, 2011 days after the Full Moon and Solar Eclipse.

Pay close attention to what is unfolding this month within personal and financial situations especially on the dates surrounding Mercury’s change of direction. It is holiday season, so the standard advice would be: get your shopping done early preferably in the first half of the month especially if you are looking to buy electronics, or then your best bet would be the week before Christmas.

Also as we enter November, Mars is in Leo nearing the end of its transit, preparing for a long 7 month journey in Virgo. On Nov. 7, 2011 Mars opposes Neptune in Aquarius; with Mercury and Venus in close conjunction at this time be very discerning of the ‘truth.’ Be transparent in your negotiations without projecting suspicion. The worst lies are the ones we tell ourselves. As long as you are in no denial, you can see clearly through any facade to get to the bottom of an underlying truth.

Mars ingresses Virgo on Nov. 11, 2011, will enter shadow on Nov. 18, 2012, stations retrograde on Jan 23, 2012 at 23+ Virgo and stations direct on April 13, 2012 at 3+ Virgo, finally moves out of shadow on June 19, 2012 and enters Libra on July 3, 2011.Seven months is a long transit by any standards and with Mars especially so. But in Virgo the suggestion is this is how long it will take to get ‘the job done.’ During this transit pay attention to your health: this could be a lot of nervous energy, there may be an added tendency to worry, but worry is wasted energy and ends up manifesting in physical illnesses. This is also a time of hard work, perhaps late nights, but try to avoid burning the candle at both ends.

Watch your diet, find healthy ways to channel your energy and you could get a lot accomplished.

Do what you can and then trust your best is good enough. Community service and healing are highlighted; there is a sense of having to answer the call of duty. Everyone is likely to be overworked and tired at this time, so if something is bothering you address it rather than let critical energy destroy something. If you are involved in research, the retrograde phase will be especially helpful to dig deep and get your hands dirty.

Mars in Virgo can bring out perfectionist tendencies, but perfection is an illusion. Do the best you can and leave room for improvement. There will be time later when Mars stations retrograde to go over and fine-tune something or weed out what is not working. Especially in love and personal relationships nurture what is precious, rather than tear it apart with critical energy. There can be deep healing, even sexual healing under this transit bringing the ability to enjoy the life’s simpler pleasures if we focus on it consciously.

This month’s Full Moon occurs at 18+ Taurus at 4:16 PM EDT on Nov. 10, 2011. The Sun and Moon make trine and sextile  Ceres at 16+ Pisces, and square Nessus and Vesta at 20+ and 15+ Aquarius respectively. The Moon is exalted in Taurus the sign of the earth and reality, where emotions are grounded and unchanging.

The Full Moon is a reminder that although our feelings are real, they are not necessarily ‘reality.’ A lot of our emotions, especially painful ones are suppressed emotions from deep psychological, sexual or past wounding (Sun in Scorpio) that we project on to situations and people that trigger them. Recognize your feelings, but also go to the source and root to see where they come from so you can truly heal and are in no danger of displacing destructive emotions.

Nessus’ presence is a significant factor at the time of this lunation. Here is an excerpt form an article by Eric Francis on the energy of Nessus: “Nessus is a Centaur planet that assists with identifying and healing of abuse patterns. But on another level, it reveals the complex interplay of causes and effects; of stated motives, underlying motives and of outcomes. While it can address cycles of karma, the most poignant key concept comes from Melanie Reinhart: the buck stops here, indicating that in some situations it speaks to the conclusion of the karmic cycle involved: the truth revealed, the perpetrator caught, the situation resolved, responsibility taken.

“Though it comes with a particularly nasty myth, its effect is not necessarily malefic; it can just as easily help with resolving difficult situations as it can be involved with their creation.”

In the same article he writes “Abuse can be overt. But it can also involve being left un-parented for long periods of time when you needed help, love or warmth; it can include being made to sleep in a crib in a separate room from your parents as an infant. It can involve the way you are spoken to, or violence you are exposed to in your environment.” This struck me as especially significant given Nessus is in the sign of Aquarius, where isolation can be an extreme manifestation. With the Moon in Taurus, the most tactile sign of the zodiac don’t underestimate the healing power of touch.

As it  squares the Sun in Scorpio especially look to past sources of abuse, that cause you to unconsciously play out and repeat destructive patterns within current relationships and situations. On a a global level, with the “Occupy” protests occurring all over the world – Nessus is Aquarius is pointing to the economic abuse faced by the masses while the powerful few get richer.

The Taurus Moon with Jupiter in the sign is sure to bring changes on this front. The buck definitely stops here and its true something is changing but more important it is us who is changing. Change like this is never pretty, but it is necessary and inevitable. In freeing ourselves of negative perceptions, expectations we can open ourselves to surrender to a sweeter, more abundant reality. On a personal level as well, this is definitely very sensual and sexual energy, and the aspects to Ceres could be rather deliciously and divinely intoxicating, if we dare surrender to it.

Vesta’s conjunction to Nessus, squaring the Full Moon is deeply symbolic of the healing and transformational potential of this energy and a reminder to create a sacred healing space. There may be issues to resolve with wanting closeness and being too attached. Taurus and Scorpio are both fixed signs suggesting these ties run deep and we may be learning deeper feelings we have. This is what happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable object. But Vesta in Aquarius (also a fixed sign) points to the place of resolution in allowing for spaces in your togetherness, there can be an experience of true oneness, intimacy [or “in-to-me-see,”] sexual surrender, sensuality and commitment.

“You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.”

Also we are currently in Eclipse season and on Nov. 14, 2011 Venus conjuncts the North Node bringing an important date with destiny with sexual, creative financial and relationship situations. Observe what happens now and it will give you an important clue about the journey ahead. There may even be a sense of suddenly finding yourself on a wide open road. Be honest with yourself, be philosophical look at the long term and what you value rather than a passing fancy and you can make choices that support your vision for your life.

On Nov. 23, 2011 the Sun leaves Scorpio and ingresses Sagittarius leading to the New Moon and Solar Eclipse on Nov. 25, 2011 at 2:09 AM EDT at 2+ Sagittarius. The lunation will trine Uranus in Aries and form a tight square to Mars at 6+ Virgo. There is a sense of having to take a leap of faith and do what needs to be done. The time before the New Moon especially at the time of an Eclipse in Sagittarius can feeling like ebbing away of faith or hope, or like there is no escaping a situation.

With the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius this requires us to push our boundaries, trust and have faith in our own abilities to do what needs to be done. As long as we make choices based in truth and personal integrity; in faith rather than fear we can trust we will be safe.

With Mercury stationing retrograde the day before the New Moon, whatever you thought was the end of the road, isn’t. We will be retracing our steps with the conversations and negotiations we’ve been involved in in November through December offering a second chance to discover a deeper truth and resurrect something with a new enlightened perspective.

This is far from the end, but just a new beginning of a new adventure and journey.
