Red Alert…! : Sun conjunct Mars in Aries, Last Quarter Moon in Cancer, Venus in Taurus

Things are getting hot, heavy, explosive and emotional…

Like an animal that has tasted blood, there may be a sweet ravenous hunger or passion building for something now. Love and hate. Pleasure and pain. Fear and desire. We can’t have one without the other. But what is the driving force in your life?

Mars conjuncts the Sun in Aries today in a few hours of my writing this. Meanwhile, Venus is now in her home sign Taurus, with the Moon in Cancer as we reach the Last Quarter, heading towards a Partial Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio.

As the Moon squares the Sun-Mars conjunction this energy calls deep self-awareness of ones feelings and desires, or things could get rather emotionally volatile with explosive outbursts.

The more we are able to resolve feelings internally now, we can make an easier transition in the coming week as the Scorpio Eclipse which is bringing even deeper perhaps darker emotions to the surface for release, leading to revelation and change.

The fact that we can feel anything at all is a sign that we are alive. And the more we can get in touch with our own feelings we can extend compassion and empathy to others.

As much as there may be rage, anger, bitterness, pain, resentment or helplessness about the past or what you cannot change, there is also love. And Venus in Taurus is a reminder that only love is real.

But love is not something that can be possessed, (neither is money for that matter, for we die empty handed.) it can only be nurtured and shared. This is a wake up call and call to action: to the life you are creating, rather than one that has passed.

If you can dare to chase your passion or share your love for the sake of it, while being patient and not getting distracted by the ‘fruit,’ you can harness this energy to become the force of change you seek.

And change always begins with oneself. You can run, but you can’t hide. Not from yourself.

And perhaps the best advice under these skies, in any situation, comes from John Steinbeck who said in a letter to his son, (responding to his son’s letter earlier that day telling him he had just fallen in love):

“And don’t worry about losing. If it is right, it happens—The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away.”
