Dear Friends,
I write these words with deep sadness — Jonathan Cainer, the astrologer who inspired me to be an astrologer, passed away in the early hours of May 2, 2016.
I awoke to the news which left me, like many others, speechless, in shock, disbelief and tears. I’ve been reading Jonathan’s horoscopes daily for close to 20 years; they’ve held me through some of the darkest times of my life. I would fall asleep listening to his Audio forecasts — his soothing wisdom, like a voice from the heavens and ray of light in the abyss.
I considered Jonathan a mentor, even though we never met; the highlight of my life was when he read my horoscopes once. I learned from him — not just about astrology, but about life and myself and this unexpected loss is hitting me harder and deeper than I can express.
It’s also putting into perspective my life, reminding me of the reason I do what I do — and how privileged I am to do it and to have you here reading these words. It is not something I ever take lightly, but today in death as in life, Jonathan leaves me with a valuable, unforgettable lesson.
He was also one of the most important Sagittarians in my life (I’m surrounded by them) — the first two being my parents, who incidentally celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary today. On a day like this, I find myself reflecting about life, love and death — so real and eternal — reminding us of the fragility of our earthly form.
We’re moving to the Taurus New Moon on May 6, 2016. With five planets currently retrograde, and as we move through the dark of the Moon, this is a time of release and clearing the weeds.
Dig deep for who and what you value. Then you can plant new seeds, re-emerge, and re-birth with this very fertile Taurus New Moon that holds deep treasures for those who seek.
Currently, the Moon in Pisces is approaching a sextile to Mercury in Taurus, and a conjunction to Chiron, just after midnight. I leave you with words of wisdom from another philosopher and Sagittarian…
“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.
“Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
