The Never Ending Story…: Mercury retrograde in Aquarius, Venus in Pisces, Venus-Mars conjunctions and more…

Apologies for being away from the Blog for a bit. Between the holidays, settling into a new routine, Consultations and retrieving a crashed hard disk, right before Mercury stationed retrograde, I’ve had my hands full.

But I just wanted to check in with the Blog, given all the activity in the sky. Currently the Sun, Venus and Mercury (now retrograde) are transiting through Aquarius.

Mercury first entered shadow just after the Cancer Full Moon on Jan 5, 2015 and as Mercury retraces its steps through Aquarius, we’re in a phase of reviewing and recovering the territory we’ve been in since then. Mercury stations direct on Feb. 11, 2015 and makes a third pass over the same degrees of the zodiac and finally moves out of shadow into new territory on Mar. 4, 2015.

And this brings us March 17, 2015 which marks the grand-finale and final aspect of the ongoing squares between Uranus and Pluto since 2012, which have changed the landscape of the world and all our lives.

The most recent square between these two planets occurred on Dec. 16, 2014, just a few days before Saturn entered Sagittarius. In the last days of Saturn in Scorpio, I recorded a video on Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius.

At the time, I remember the words ”religious fundamentalism” coming through very strongly, which I mentioned in the video. Since then as Saturn entered Sagittarius, we’ve seen events unfold around the world, not least in Paris and Pakistan. Sagittarius being the sign of publishing, once again the astrological symbolism is stark and evident.

It may be easy to lose hope in the face of the violence all around us. But as meaningless as it is and seems, it need not be in vain, if it inspires us to be the force for change; to be more compassionate and kinder human beings. Whether we see it or not, there is always a higher divine plan in motion – and you never know what could set off a chain reaction. You have no control over the outcome of things – but you do control what you put out into the world. Use this power wisely.

Especially, with Mercury’s retrograde phase leading up to this final Uranus-Pluto square: let go of perceptions, then you can can see different facets to a situation or person that you haven’t previously seen, bringing you a recognition of the oneness of life.

Also, Venus is now in the final degree and final hours of her transit through Aquarius. Venus enters Pisces (the sign of her exaltation) at 2:57 PM GMT on Jan. 27, 2015 until Feb. 21, 2014, to join Mars in the sign. And then immediately after her ingress into Aries, she makes a spicy conjunction to Mars on Feb. 22, 2015.

Anytime Venus and Mars come together in the sky, we see relationships, creative and financial situations heat up, especially with this conjunction being in Aries – the first Fire sign. Although this is a fast moving transit we have three Venus-Mars conjunctions this year, which speak of a longer story unfolding. No matter what has gone down before, this conjunction in Aries suggests this is just the beginning.

But that’s later — and what happens then depends on how you’re able to flow with life now. With Mars and Venus moving through Pisces over the next few weeks: before you jump into the fire, dip your feet, warm your toes, see how something feels before you dive in.

Pisces represents all that is un-manifest; the great void, from which all of creation is born. All things are possible, but seek depth then you won’t get swept away in a fantasy or illusion and then have a rude awakening.

Financially too, now would be a great time to plug any leaks before you try to fill up the bucket, or you could find yourself under the gun later. If you work well under pressure that’s fine – but if you do what you need to now – you could free yourself up to have some fun by the time of the conjunction.

As I write this the Moon is in Taurus now, just about to square the Sun, bringing us to the Quarter Moon. Marking the half-way point of the cycle that began with the New Moon leading to the Leo Full Moon just over a week from now on Feb. 4, 2015.

Usually we have one New and one Full Moon per sign. This year we have two – the first and recent New Moon Aquarius at 0’ 9” degrees and the second one at 29’ 59” degrees of the sign. To me this speaks of a longer story unfolding, offering second chances and new starts, if we’re willing to learn from and be comfortable with all that’s up in the air.

Of course there’s a whole lot more going on in between now and then, not least a very passionate Leo Full Moon on Feb. 4, 2015 — which also triggers the degree of the Venus-Mars conjunction in Leo later this year. And dare I say it love is in the air, or water. But still go slow and you won’t slip up.

Time-permitting, I will check back in here around the time of the Full Moon with more astrology.
