“Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over it and whispers, ‘Grow, grow.” — The ‘Talmud’
I don’t know if it was Mercury standing still but time seemed to drag on this week. Things are slowly getting back to normal and the Moon in Gemini today could likely help break the silence. Overnight Neptune squared Sedna which may have had the feeling of battling deep wounds. But perhaps this would be a good time to see how much of that pain is real and how much is due to our own perception and sensitivity to certain issues.
Later tonight, asteroid Psyche conjuncts Hylonome a centaur. The tale of Cupid and Psyche is a long story of love’s struggle against forces of trust and surrender. Psyche astrologically represents a “sense” of a wound that will never heal. This shows us the power of the darker recesses of our unconscious mind to seep into reality, without us even being aware its happening. Or that it is so deeply embedded in our minds that it almost has a psychic hold over us sending us into familiar states of panic and paranoia with the slightest hint of provocation.
Hylonome is a centaur that has been given the keyword “cry of the people,” with a feeling of something having been in vain. Hylonome was perhaps the only centaur to commit suicide and she killed herself by impaling herself on the spear that killed her lover unable to bear the grief. Giving the suggestion that it was not worth it after all, but she is about healing grief — and learning that nothing is ever in vain. Something is a waste only so far as we let it be, we always have a choice.
This conjunction certainly speaks for the state of our larger world — there seems to be a growing sense of pessimism that we are never going to get out of this slump. Even on a personal level, there may be a feeling of the pain of something being almost too much to bear, where we’d just rather give up. I remind and warn you not to be too quick to get rid of something based on pessimissm. Both the planets come with themes of healing but in both cases the healing can only come after we’ve “given ourselves” permission to move on. With the conjunction taking place in Sagittarius, there is a strong implication of optimism being able to carry us through the bleakest hour.
Also this weekend the Sun makes a closing sextile to Juno and the Galactic Center — now in close conjunction in Sagittarius. Closing aspects suggest we are coming full circle with something, nearing a completion. The Libra Sun and Juno both speak of relationships and this a time for release, rather acceptance. There may have been some profoundly polarizing truths that we have had to come to terms with regarding our some of our relationships.
But the bigger lesson here is that indeed we can’t continue to label anything as good or bad. Sagittarius is the sign of spirituality and a greater truth that encompasses all duality. Juno in close conjunction to the Galactic Core is tinging relationships with a spark of divine wisdom. If we are able to let go of imbalances created by our need to want to define something, we may just learn of the infinite potential held with every partnership that makes it sacred.
The big shift of course comes tomorrow when Venus leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius. Venus in Scorpio has taken us deep into the mysteries of love. Its been a time to confront our darkest emotions honestly and purge them to make way for the light to shine through the cracks. With Mars still in the sign and making a square to Nessus in Aquarius late Sunday — we may still be fighting demons of addiction, pain and toxic, abusive patterns heaped on over time and generations.
As Venus moves into Sagittarius its a clear sign that the heart longs to be free. If we’ve managed to be honest with ourselves where it matters the most, speaking the truth of the heart is going to be a lot easier from here on out. This is about the love of the soul, a soul-love and relationships that bring us closer to God are the ones that also have the ability to be brutally honest at times.
Venus will conjunct Pluto next month at the end of the Sagittarius for the last time in our life times, days before Pluto’s ingress into Sagittarius. That is the thing with the world, we forget the most obvious of all truths — we were born alone and we will die alone. We are all manifestations of the ‘Infinite’s’ longing to know itself. Our interactions with each other aid us in our growth only as much as we are receptive to the alchemical transformation of our souls. Venus in Sagittarius could have us reaching divine heights of ecstasy, if we are willing to let go and move forward with the faith and optimism in our heart.
