My aunt asked me the other day when the news of the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan broke, if given the coming Full Moon we could expect another Tsunami. I said to her it’s volcanoes and fires we need to watch for now.

Watching the situation develop in Japan, with the Nuclear reactors going off and then a volcano exploding left me speechless. Even I didn’t think so much would happen in succession, within days, in the same country.

I have not looked at the charts for Japan in association with the current situation, but for those interested please check in with the Planet Waves Blog for coverage the best source I know for informed news coverage through an astrological perspective.

I’m sure most if not all astrologers would love to be able to predict with precision such events, in the hopes that even one life could be saved. But even if an astrologer can predict ‘when’ (depending on when charts and energy looks especially intense,) the ‘where’ is still a largely variable factor.

Personally I hope and think this will get countries to rethink their nuclear strategies and re-channel resources more effectively, with individuals standing up to ensure this.

Activity at the Aries Point [00 Aries on the tropical zodiac] coincides with deeply personal events that have greater global and political implications or vice versa.

With Uranus now on the Aries point, people are going to be up in arms if their rights are not met and their voices not heard. And governments are going to have to take notice. You can count on that.

Recently in conversation with my brother I said to him nonchalantly (and honestly I don’t know where it came from but it felt like a knowing) – in a few years or at least our lifetimes “there will be no boundaries.” Of course he laughed and thought I was crazy. It sounded crazy even to me when I heard it rationally.

I know enough to know this is seemingly impossible but still with Pluto is in Capricorn now and over its coming transit, we are sure to see the end of the world as we know it, to reveal a more precious core reality. Uranus in Aries asks for individual consciousness and awareness that we are indeed part of a greater connected collective conscience.

With Uranus and (currently Jupiter in my 12th house) I realize I need to start trusting more even if it sounds crazy to others and even myself sometimes. But this is true for all of us on some level, with Uranus in Aries the sign that represents the self and one’s identity, we may all feel a little insane at times and this transit is pushing personal boundaries asking for greater faith and trust.

This is our first taste of Uranus in Aries. It’s been a rather emotional time and if Japan is reflective of anything, it’s a metaphor for what people are feeling on some level – mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and psychically.

But Mercury currently is approaching in conjunction to Jupiter in Aries, exact at 1:26 AM UT on Mar. 16, 2011. Hopefully this will bring news that restores faith in the midst of even personal and global tragedy.

Now we are approaching a Full Moon in Virgo on Mar. 19, 2011 at 11:39 PM INT. In India this coincides with Guru Pornima and the festival of Holi, which marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring.

At the time of this lunation the Sun and Moon will square the Nodes, suggesting a powerful turning point in our individual and collective destiny.

Venus in Aquarius trined Saturn in Libra yesterday on Mar. 14, 2011 bringing a sense of stability to financial situations and relationships, even if much is still unknown.

As I write this, the Moon is in Cancer and enters Leo at 3:33 PM EDT on Tuesday, Mar. 15, 2011 and trines Uranus shortly after at 3:55 PM EDT. Expect the emotional mood to shift dramatically.

There may be desires and feelings exploding you didn’t know existed. If we can keep the ego out of the way this could be a rather liberating, creative and passionate experience. Be honest with yourself. If you take a risk, you’re more than likely to surprise yourself.

As Mercury conjuncts Jupiter and enters shadow phase on Mar. 17, 2011. We are learning valuable information and perhaps due to make a surprising discovery. Be wise, keep an open mind and hope and faith alive, and you could win big.
